3.14 RRА 01М03 Radon Radiation Meter
RRA-01M-03 radon radiation meter is designed for measurement of radon-222 and thoron-220 volumetric activity (VA) in the air of residential and work spaces and in open spaces.
Radon-222 and thoron-220 VA measurements are based on electrostatic precipitation of decomposition daughter products - positively charged ions 218Po (RaA) and 21 bPo (ThA) - from the taken air sample on the surface of a solid-state detector with the help of high positive potential transmitted to the measuring chamber electrode.
Radon-222 and thoron-220 activity is measured by means of alpha-spectrometric method by the number of registered alpha particles during RaA and ThA decomposition. Controlled environmental parameters include temperature, relative humidity and pressure.
